Café Experience at Carnielli Farm

Among coffee, cheese, and stories, live an unforgettable day at Carnielli Farm

A guided tour, rich aromas, and authentic flavors at the birthplace of Brazilian agrotourism, in Venda Nova do Imigrante

Espírito Santo is one of those destinations that surprises you with every visit! As you head up the Capixaba highlands, the beaches give way to green-covered mountains, mild weather, and a pace of life that invites contemplation. It’s in this transition from the coast to the hills that the state reveals another of its greatest treasures: the agricultural and cultural richness of small countryside towns that have turned farming into an art form.

Charming Venda Nova do Imigrante stands out as the national capital of agrotourism, with its lush landscapes and pleasant climate. Colonized by Italians in the late 19th century, the city proudly preserves its roots, which are reflected in its cuisine, accents, and traditional festivals that celebrate the abundance of the land.

But one of the greatest highlights of Venda Nova is its coffee: award-winning, handcrafted, and full of personality. It’s no coincidence that the city is part of the Special Coffee Route of the Espírito Santo Highlands, recognized by UNESCO as an example of sustainable tourism.

It’s in this setting of tradition and excellence that you’ll find Carnielli Farm, the first agrotourism farm in Brazil and a must-see stop for anyone who wants to understand what makes Capixaba coffee so special. If you love specialty coffee, artisanal cheese, and well-told stories, get ready: the Carnielli Coffee Experience is a deep dive into the world of agrotourism, with tastings, learning, and the warm Capixaba hospitality that touches the heart.

CARNIELLI FARM

Founded in 1888 by the Carnielli family, the farm is an open-air museum, where every corner tells a part of the coffee journey in Espírito Santo. The property not only preserves centuries-old cultivation techniques but also incorporates modern production methods, ensuring coffee beans of the highest quality.

And you can see it all up close in a visit that delights both coffee lovers and families looking for a different kind of outing. It’s a true immersion in the flavors, aromas, and stories of a pioneering family that turned their passion for farming into a charming and meaningful experience.

EXPERIENCE COFFEE LIKE NEVER BEFORE

The experience begins with a guided tour led by a member of the Carnielli family, who shares stories from the arrival of Italian immigrants in Brazil to the present day. Along a 300-meter accessible trail, you’ll walk through the farm where one of the state’s most awarded coffees is carefully produced—winner of Espírito Santo’s first special coffee award.

During the tour, you’ll get to know each step of the production process: from planting and harvesting, through drying and bean selection, to roasting and preparation methods. You’ll see the traditional drying patio, smell the irresistible aroma of freshly roasted beans, and discover how subtle details can completely change the flavor of your cup. The explanations are detailed, full of curiosities, and delivered with the care of those who live coffee every day.

The highlight of the experience is a harmonized tasting of specialty coffees with fine cheeses produced on the farm—a combination that surprises even the most refined palates. Two brewing methods are presented, showing how technique can transform a sensory experience.

At the end, you’ll have free time to explore the Farm Store, where you can sample—and of course, take home—coffee, cheese, cured meats, and other products made on-site or by local partners. A true festival of flavors from the Capixaba highlands!
