Iguaçu National Park is a biodiversity sanctuary, recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage site. Its ecosystem is home to a rich fauna, including jaguars, howler monkeys, and over 400 bird species, such as toucans and macaws. The flora is equally impressive, with centuries-old trees, rare orchids, and medicinal plants that make up the lush vegetation of the Atlantic Forest.

For those who want to experience nature intensely, the park is the perfect choice. The Macuco Safari experience takes place within the park and combines a jungle ride, an incredible trail, and an exciting boat tour that takes you close to the waterfalls. Ready for this adventure?

JUNGLE RIDE

Upon entering the park, get off the bus at the Macuco Safari stop. This is where your journey begins. Onboard an electric vehicle, you will travel 2 km through the native forest. Along the way, you can observe the park’s rich biodiversity, hearing the sounds of the forest and feeling the cool breeze.

Some animals will appear along the way, making the experience even more magical. Blue butterflies are among the species that most often show up for visitors. Watching them flutter around the vehicle is magnificent!

As the driver follows the path, the guide shares fascinating facts about the local fauna and flora, enriching the experience. Some stops are strategically placed to highlight plant species that are the region’s main attractions.

ATLANTIC FOREST TRAIL

The vehicle stops at a point where it cannot go any further. From there, the second part of the adventure begins: a 600-meter walk along a trail surrounded by lush vegetation. The path reveals small waterfalls, centuries-old trees, and, with luck, wild animals like monkeys and toucans. This immersion in nature provides a unique moment of connection and learning about this special ecosystem.

BOAT TOUR AT THE FALLS

The trail ends at the Iguaçu River. Onboard a powerful twin-engine boat, you will be guided by the river’s currents toward the majestic waterfalls. Adrenaline fills the air as you take in breathtaking landscapes.

But, it is when the boat approaches the waterfalls that joy takes over, offering a refreshing waterfall shower filled with energy and pure fun. The feeling of being so close to the power of the water is indescribable, a true privilege for nature and adventure lovers.

Tip: The boat ride has two options. In one, the boat approaches the falls, but you won’t get wet. The other is much more thrilling, as the boat passes under the falls, leaving you drenched and with your soul refreshed.

The experience departs every 20 minutes, daily between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The adventure lasts about 2 hours, but time seems to fly. Macuco Safari is one of those experiences you need to live at least once in your life. And, of course, it will stay in your memory forever.
