What makes Ceará especially unique is its variety of scenery in short stretches of coastline. In just a few kilometers, you go from flat water ideal for technical tricks to consistent waves perfect for kite surfing. DAYS OF PURE ADRENALINE ALONG THE COAST
Getting to Cumbuco is already part of the adventure. Just 30 kilometers from Fortaleza, this fishing village enchants with its golden dunes, coconut groves, and warm waters perfect for kitesurfing. The scenery is so stunning it’s easy to understand why this has become one of the top destinations for the sport worldwide.
The journey begins at 8 a.m. at Cumbuco Beach. After a detailed briefing about the trip, it’s time to embark on the first 50-kilometer downwind stretch. The route includes some of Ceará’s best waves near Porto do Pecém and calmer waters at the paradisiacal Praia da Taíba. The day ends in Paracuru, where a traditional dinner celebrates the first achievement.
The second day brings another thrilling 40-kilometer stretch, starting at Praia da Lagoinha and passing through famous spots like Guajiru, Flecheiras, and Mundaú before reaching Praia da Baleia. Each stop reveals different conditions ranging from flat water perfect for tricks to waves that challenge even the most experienced. A 4x4 vehicle accompanies the entire route for safety and support. The experience is topped off with a fun buggy ride through the region’s dunes.
The third day of the expedition is often said to be the most spectacular of all. The adventure begins early in Apiques, a cinematic setting where golden dunes meet turquoise-blue sea, creating a stunning contrast. The side shore wind blows steadily between 18 and 24 knots—ideal conditions for the 36 kilometers to Icaraí de Amontada. On this stretch, you’ll ride past completely deserted beaches and crystal-clear lagoons that reflect the sky like natural mirrors. One of the most magical moments is when the tide is low, revealing sandbanks that create shallow water areas, perfect for spectacular tricks and amazing photos.
On the fourth and final day, the thrill continues! It’s 35 kilometers to Ilha do Guajiru, passing by reefs that create barrel waves, encounters with traditional fishing jangadas, and the sensation of completing an epic journey as you catch sight of the island’s first palm trees.
The journey ends with a luau on the beach and the awarding of a certificate recognizing the 160 kilometers of downwind completed. Under a starry sky typical of the Northeast, it’s time to share stories while savoring grilled fresh fish and the traditional carne de sol with cassava.

During the 4-day expedition, you will stay in charming inns that preserve the Northeastern spirit, with hammocks swaying on the porches, rustic decor, and of course, that hearty breakfast with tropical fruits, tapioca, and natural juices to energize you for long sessions at sea.
Support along the route is comprehensive. At each strategic stop, fresh snacks with chilled coconut water, seasonal fruits, and energy bars will be available to recharge your energy.
The entire journey is guided by a certified instructor who leads the group through the best routes, as well as offering technical tips to improve performance in each type of condition encountered. And for those who prefer not to bring equipment, there is an option to rent in Cumbuco.
